senyumam orang yang da terror :)
It has been 3 months since my eldest girl registered herself in a swimming class. Her class is every Sunday at 8.00am. There are no complaints when it comes to swimming class - pagi senang ja bangun unlike the normal days when she got her morning mood swing for having to wake up early to go to school :). I bet even if her swimming class starts at 6.00 am, she won't complain :)
I never sent her to her class - biasala bermalas malasan di pagi ahad best hehe . Instead, Mr Hub sends her and waits for her there -for the duration of 1 hour.
Last Saturday was a replacement class. I got no choice but to send her as Mr Hub is working on Saturday. So there I was, for the first time -Many parents were waiting for their children to complete the earlier session and many were also waiting to join for the next session. So inila rupanya kolam renang tu :).
All the swimming instructors were young men - they looked so cute entertaining 5 to 7 years old children which majority of them were girls. They all kena jadi keanak anakan jugak - There were 3 instructors - each with 4 to 6 children. Hard to teach children anything if one does not have any patience or do not like children. All these children are more into playing water rather than into learning how to swim- termasuk la Erdina. Tersengih sengih - she is the only Malay girl in her group - so her instructor addresses her in Manglish:) while addressing the others in Mandarin . He repeated his instruction in both languanges.
Once a while, I saw them tekan tekan kepala budak2 tu - he said, " look down look down" (alamak if I were to join the class here - kepala I pun kena di tonyoh tonyoh cam tu - ishhh) hehe - but Mr Hub said, for adult class, no such things - all verbal instruction - takda nak pegang pegang da :), hmm okla kalau macam tu
nila kolam renangnya -belakang so-called bungalow office - the place is run by optimum train.
Towards the end of the class, her instructor placed a few cones along the pool's parameter and he told his students, "if you can reach the green cone - you are good, red cone - you are very good, yellow one- you are excellent, but if you can reach towards the end of the pool , you are fantastic.
He asked Dina to start first - it sounded foreign to me when he called Erdina by the name of "Minie" (eh dia cakap ngan anak i la hehe). Minie, why dont you start first.
There you go Erdina - she swam across the 25 meter pool without her swimming board and fin and she made it to the end- great job (sob sob rasa nak menangis lak masa tu heheh- biasala motherly instinct just kicked in :)) - fantastic Minie, hebat hebat - teacher dia kata heheh - i pulak yang terasa kembang segala macam orang puji I - (helllooooooo u tak sedar ke Erma u tu tak tau berenang kekeek)- but nampak la termengah- mengah jugak si Erdina sampai ke hujung . I think she needs more practise so that she can build up her stamina. She follows her father to the public pool every weekend - bapak dia suruh practice but dia sibuk lari sana sini memain ja.
While I was watching Er, I made a small talk with a lovely lady who waited for her grandchild. SHe said,"lucky aa children nowadays, dulu kita mana ada semua ni kan , da tua pun kita tak tau berenang" hehe betul betul. She added some more, 'nowadays parents send their children to swimming class la, piano la , ballet la (pickle pie :)), tumble tots la (Irdina - bundle of joy :)) they are so lucky kan " I nodded and said "ye betul betul , they are so lucky" :).
Ketahui la wahai anak anak semua - you all semua amat bernasib baik :)
