Here is a compiled list of idea to prepare your family for the month of Ramadan
:
1) Put a goal for you and your family to be finished by the end of the month; for example, completing the Quran.
2) Before the month comes, prepare and provide all means to reach your goal.
3) Prepare yourself and your family members mentally, physically, psychologically, and spiritually to receive the blessing month.
4) If you want your wife to join you, please do not burden her with too many invites for breakfast.
5) Prepare your children to join you in congregational prayer in mosques; including Taraweeh.
6) Delegate the responsibility for giving a mini lecture to each of your children.
7) Prepare your family to devote some of their time for helping others.
8) If you have a chance, take your children with you in seclusion (Itikaf).
9) Train your children to enjoin good and forbid evil.
10) If possible take your children for a Umrah trip in the blessed month.
11) Gather your family around after Fajr prayer daily for a Tafseer lesson.
12) What a goal on each family member to improve one manner towards their behavior.
13) Provide an alternative Halal fun competition to alleviate boredom.
14) Give a gift bag to each family member that includes a helpful booklet; for example, Fortress of a Muslim.
15) Have a story night on a weekly basis where you tell them about one of the victorious battles in the history of Islam.
16) Have a competition between family members about who knows most about the companions (The Sahabah) R.A.
17)Ask your family members who is their favorite reciter and place it in the car.
18) Encourage every family member to donate whatever they have extra as an act of charity.
19) Encourage every family member to use their time wisely by remembering Allah and making Thikr.
20) Prepare your family members to use their senses in the obedience of Allah.
21) Emphasize the fact that we left what was lawful so how can we do what is unlawful.
22) Train your children to look after the needy and run errands for the respected elders.
23) Train your children not to stay up late at night and waste their time but to be prepared for the late night meal and early Morning Prayer.
24) Make sure the members of the family gets involved in preparing the breakfast.
25) Make sure you teach your children
did the Lord of Ramadan is the Lord of the whole year.
26) Remind them about the secrets of the month of Ramadan.
27) And finally remind your family of the ultimate goal of being together in heaven (Jannah).
