The alternatives - Food

How many serving of chicken do you eat in a week? twice a week? every other week? how about kfc? sedap hingga menjilat jari- OR is my favorite hehe- drumstick please. Where do you buy your chicken?

Saya dengan jayanya mengumumkan tidak akan membeli ayam dipasar lagi eventhough my uncle is one of the biggest supplier around here - sorry la paksu :).

My sister has cyst. Sebesar size of a jug - sucessfully removed last year. 2 of my  friends got a few in the their tummy as well. And you know what the doctor advises? please avoid eating chicken- hello how about kfc hehe. If you have to, please eat ayam kampung or organic ones.

So this friend of mine, started her talk on chicken yesterday (dan telah berjaya menakut- nakutkan I) until I allowed her to drag me (literally) to Az Zain Section 17- where she got her supply of super healthy chicken (iye ke?).

The supermarket sells organic chicken, ayam dr zainol (please google  kalau nak tau macam mana dia bela ayam :)), herb chicken (the chicken is fed of herbs OK- so ayam tu ayam kuat I guess :)), ayam kampung and of course normal ayam- all shares one criteria- semua dibela tanpa injit- no jab is given to the chicken to make it grow faster. Prices range from rm15 to rm19- hmm not sa bad kan - macam harga ayam biasa ja- all is cut and wrapped nicely. Try it and you will notice the difference- ayam kurang lemak and lebih pejal - kalau ayam herb tu ada rasa lain skit almaklumla dia makan herba herba terpilih :)-  ok since it is nearby my office, I will just get my weekly chicken from here- There are a few halal hub in my area but I could not find any yang jual ayam tak cucuk :).

And I have also replaced R****y's burger with Darabif -for my children (and me :))-Finally I have found Darabif (tak susah giant/cold storage bawah SACC pun ada)- sedapnyaaaa - thanks to sweet sidia- masak atas frying pan pun tak keluar minyak - made of lean meat- dagingnya pejal- good for weight watcher :) and a piece of junior size burger cuma ada 100 over calorie (ceh calorie consious tu hahah - ina i know you are laughing). I thought that Darabif is some kind of imported product from Saudi Arabia hehe ( i dont know where do I get that idea- from the name I guess) but surprisingly, they are locally made. And they have fast food restaurant (Darabif Burgers) in Hartamas Square, Damansara Utama and Sooka Central

Cik Ina also gives me good advice - I am not destined to diet- so stop it hehe - enjoy my food but replace it with some healthy choices.

Instead of maggie (sedapnya maggi goreng) cook spaghetti- dear, do you know that now I got all kind of pasta and pasta seasoning now - bought it just after our conversation that day, hehee- this week ja 2 kali dinner pasta -  1 kali breakfast pasta you

She also asks me to replace my cooking oil with omega 3- ok if i fry keropok and cokodok i used that. But now I have olive oils for the pasta and goreng kering. Goreng keropok cannot la banyak olive oil i nak guna bungrapt la :)

Eggs? change to omega 3 .

Grain? Beras putih to beras merah? not yet

Gardenia bread to organic bread?- not yet - have not come across any- will it be as soft as the butterscotch gardenia? hehe

Organic veggies? - ok that is easy - memang kadang belipun - they are everywhere in any hypermarket- I seldom cook veggies at home (sebab ketensionan masak ja mesti tak habis) but I love sayur keras like tomato, terung, buncis, timun- now buat sandwich letak salad teruja tengok sandwich Zarin ada salad :-D sedap rupanya

I am also more to local food nowadays- got my chili sauce from HPA (ayam dr zainol also can be bought from HPA) from ibuawra or eca -sedap you - masalahnya ngan benda -benda ni takda kat kedai biasa so still sometime , I have to buy  my old time fav - kimball - will let go - to keep stock of HPA sauce. They have kicap manis and sardin also - will try- hard to let go kipas udang and ayam brand - :) nothing can beat them but if we have local products which dibuat dengan cara islam yang sahih apa salahnya kita sokong kan - (look who is talking - eh eh put aside that I go and eat yuen steamboat k :))

On my face, there is  zie zie (em ehem- though ada la 1, 2 barang asing :) yang i guna hehe sebab dah lama guna and cannot live without it) and awrabeauty, my ubat gigi and feminine wash (oren and strawberry you ) from dcl (ehem ehem :))

One thing though with all the alternatives - whether they are easy and convenient to buy- they are not sold everywhere - if their stockist or bc is (business centre) nearby then it is easy for us to get it - kalu nak order kat orang lambat la unless if they are like Eca who keeps stock of chili sauce at all time :) as she buys in bulk for her family and I just get it from her

So mari la kita bertukar tukar ye kenkawan - apa iya product alternative that you all use? let share some info :)

Ada kwn I pun baru je had her cyst removed las week. Cara hidup org kampung adalah yg terbaik.Org2 kampung mkn simple je. Jgn makan canned food juga or anything with preservatives. Ada 2 cikgu sek I, their wives have cancers. Dorang beli semua makanan organik je.

Dear, changing everything to organic is going to cost a bomb. I have a friend who's in the health industry who told me not to waste money paying a premium for organic veges. She said its the same. Just buy normal veges and wash it longer and more thoroughly.

As for the family, I also buy organic vege (no matter what my friend said hehe), always been eating Omega 3 eggs, have started adding brown rice to white rice and hopefully will be able to change to brown rice entirely (very expensive rice), and have started using Olive oil for cooking. In the past we use canola oil. As for chicken, for home cooking we always go for kampung chicken. But like u said if eat KFC, can't help it la but we also cut down on KFC, last time once a week, now maybe once every 2 weeks. No choice, getting older must watch the diet.
