I got Bacathon Card from Er school- Frankly speaking, I always find Bacathon, Jogathon, Walkathon, Runathon or whatever-thon as very inconvenient :D
Sorry Teacher, minta maaf cikgu TK, hehe- in my childhood years- the card itself caused me a panic attack. And my days that followed would not be as cheerful as the previous days. You know why? I malu nak kutip duit J- Too shy to go from one house to another to collect money for the school. And I envied those children whose father and mother helped them – you know the type of FAMA who bring their child’s card to the office and collect donation on behalf of their son or daughter.
And often, as scared as I were on the day I got the card, I felt the same horrible feeling returning it to my teacher. I would only have a few names listed, with a few RM collected - coming mostly from my dad, my mum and my siblings :D. At worse, I would ask Rm 10 from my dad and then listed down 10 random names heheh.

And last week, Er brought the "thon-card" back home. Is whatever- thon- collection- still relevant nowadays?- I mean I dont mind the school asks for donation from the parents, but not for any child or parents to ask around for some money for the school. Unless of course, if we are doing voluntary /charity work to raise money for a particular school event.
Nevertheless, I am left with no choice but to help Erdina to collect some money for her school library- baca-thon, baca for reading :D. So I go around my colleagues, make a pitiful face and say – guys come help to chip in for my daughter library fund hehe. So merasala saya menjadi one of the parents whom I envied in my childhood years :).
How about you all semua mothers of today? What do you do ye when you get one of the thon card?:D and masa dulu dulu pernah tak collect duit for any-thon? :)

baru minggu lepas men'donate' kat kawan sebelah meja ni. habis semua orang i paksa donate since my friend is a pemalu type.aku je yg tak malu. i can imagine nanti anak dapat kad tu mesti i juga akan paksa semua staff, sub-con, main-con.hahahahahaha...i tak kira,asal penuh buku tu.
Ye la Reminds me of my childhood days..I pun sama mintak duit from my father and tulis nama2 org kononnya ramailah yg menderma. Zaman I jadi cikgu ni mmg dah takde bende2 thon2 ni semua. Usually kita mintak sponsor direct je. Cari parents yg kaya2 and mintak sponsorlah. Yg miskin pulak kita sedekah pd dia.
Hari tu I mintak student sponsor breakfast-I nak buat satu event. The next day he came with RM500 cash! Senangnya dapat sponsor. Cuma harap dia ikhlas.
Samalah...kalau anak I dpt benda nie... pening kepala... nak bawak gi opis pun malu nak mintak.. daddy dia lagi lah.. nak gi mintak ke
rumah jiran satu2 pun xnak. heheh.. end up keluar dari poket sendiri pastu create nama....;-(
haha..btul2.teringat masa zaman sekolah rendah dulu.malu sehhhh nak gi mintak duit.da tu siap ada siapa kumpul duit terbanyak dapat hadiah..da tentu la anak org kaya kan..da sah2 FAMA tolong..tak aci tul!
Oh i hate those cards.. still remember getting them when I was back in school and will be going around begging my uncles and aunties to donate. Imagine a household with 3 -4 kids holding the same card and begging from the same person.. haha

reminds me of my schooldays lah...kena pegi cari sumbangan dari org2. abah bagi duit rm10, letak lah 10 random name. tak sukat buat -thon things ni. sure Er's friend envy dgn dia coz u tlg cari dana...

actually, ada pngajaran kn dseblk meminta tu...cmtulah org susah gak nye..
eh ada... bukan sekolah jek.. club yg diorg join pon kena kutip duit camtu.. pening kepala nasib xjoin banyak.. parents kat sini yg lagi kena involve psl kebajikan anak2.. kalau nak majukan sekolah diorg kena cari duit sendiri..
Teringat zaman sekolah dulu-dulu, kena kutip derma. Sekarang ni pun ada lagi ke kaedah ni? Selalunya famili je yg jadi sasaran utk mintak duit. Tak kuasa nak gi satu rumah ke satu rumah minta derma.
