Yang Teristimewa

Salam Nuzul Quran :)


Finally, I manage to find this on my own. So special to me. I have been eaten this every Ramadhan since I was a little girl. Taste super extra yummy after 2 hours in the fridge.


There are so many  hawkers selling this kuih at pekan batu 14, hulu langat - (on the way to Sg Gabai and Sg Congkak ), depan masjid - only around here you can find this kuih - trust me - no other places in Klang valley (kalau ada, tel, tel me :), then I dont have to drive so far away). Again google call it kuih jongkong but my dad call it kuih bongkah or bongkoh ( tak tahu la which is which one, I cuma ingat rasanya sahaja :))

But of course this particular kuih from this particular makcik is extra special as this was where my father loved to buy it from. Just  meters away from his shops (ni batu 11). Depan Taman Desa Pelangi, ada dua tiga stall along the road on the way to Pekan Batu 11. I told the lady makcik that I come all the way from Klang  because my father used to buy it from her. She asked who my father was. Then she said, "ooo dia terus datang dekat rumah if makcik tak keluar niaga lagi". So I said that next time I 'll do the same as well- go straight to her house :). She will only run her stall at 430pm -so yesterday I have to wait for 1 hour. But sungguh berbaloi untuk tekak I yang teringin ni :D, al maklumlah tekak puasa kan hehe. I sempat survey sampai ke Pekan, memang ramai orang sana jual but I tak berani nak beli tempat tak biasa kan. Masa tu baru 3.30pm dah ramai orang start jual.

We managed to buy  26 packed in total, sebab ada dua tiga orang yang pesan. This year (or rather yesterday) kuih is very sweet as compared to what I used to taste before. Maybe semalam terlebih gula :), dalam keadaan gula mahal pun makcik ni tak kedekut gula  berbanding dengan kebanyakan kuih  kuih lain yang tasteless kat PARAM.


Next time, I really need to get out of the area before 430 pm to avoid the traffic jam everywhere. Sampai rumah sempat sempat ja time buka. Tak sempat nak sejukkan my kuih so I simpan dulu. Pukul 10 malam baru makan. Hmmm lajat bangat. Alhamdulillah. As sweet as life :)

Dina ate hers at sahur - muka ngantuk tu :)

ps: I remember my facts wrong dalam post "digamit rasa" - i cakap harga dia rm2/ 2.50 now, salah tu, semalam I beli cuma rm1.50, sama harga tahun lepas but dulu dulu iya masa I kecil dalam 80 cent ja. Not so bad la kan.
