Physically, the grand mosque was more beautiful  last year , I remember it in better condition - without the construction on going inside. Masjidil during this time now is undergoing major rennovation that affects the tawaf area- Though demolition of surrounding area and the buidling of a new wing/extension has started before - it was not that really obvious,  until now.... now you can just see so many hanging machines up above while doing tawaf.

The tawaf area facing the holy Kaabah's door and Makam Nabi Ibrahim have reduced in size- partial of the area were closed down to give way to the temporaray tembok plastic- the whole mosque on this side  from basement to the roof top is closed. Those coming from rukun Yamani will slow down and it will be super extra sesak at the green line area  - at times just a bit less sesak than the hajarul aswad area.

Yes, Masijidil is a bit noisy, a bit dusty and a bit crowded during this time of the year , nevertheleseses  it is still worth of millions to be able to be here.

I bet that it wont finish that soon - the master plan (as displayed in the museum) look very huge so that the mosque will be able to accomodate millions of people for hajj season and for the surrounding hoteal area to be more organized like in Madinah.
