Retreat to Kapas Island

We went back home town the other week, to the beautiful Kapas Island. It is really beautiful and somehow comparing it to the Manukan or Mamutik, I think Kapas is cleaner.

We stayed in Kapas Island Resort (KIR)- the only resort that has a pool (located at its cafe). KIR has 40 chalets all over with price ranges form 140 to 180rm per night. I booked 3 rooms via asianroom.com. The rooms was small but I think they could be more worthy of the price and if only it can be cleaner then it would be more comfortable.

The rest of neighbourhood has MakCik Gemok, Qimi, Pak Ya Sea View, Kapas Beach Chalet, Kapas Coral Beach chalets. I think KIR has the highest no of chalets (tu sebab cant keep it clean kot- dari abuk dari cadar etc).

One evening, we walked all the way from our chalet to the far end (left and right). I was fascinated by Qimi - located slightly on the upper level, surrounded by  green forest at the back and facing the sea on the front. To the other far end- there is a few other chalet, Captainlong house, Turtle Valley (also fascinated by these two), mostly occupied by mat saleh backpackers.


Despite setback on the room (and dont  let me start on the food and restaurant service), the beach is really beautiful-very long , accessibility to other chalets is easy so we walked to the nearby restaurants - makan kat cafe lain lagi sedap  :) and very tasty- just- right-myway-nescafe ice at the cafe near the jetty ( I was told that she was anak makcikGemok).

Alhamdulillah for the rezeki,kelapangan masa dan kesihatan, we were there for 3 days 2 night. Ist day, we went snorkeling, 2nd day, island hopping - we went to one of the caves that has many bats.We purposely woke them up in the middle of the day and we got out just in time for all of them to fly out after dikejutkan. We went on snorkeling trip again that afternoon. Lastly dapat merasa kayaking on the 3rd day.

We booked  the accommodation online using creditcard- Unlike Agoda which swipe our credit card at a point of booking, Asianroom only take credit card particulars, payment is at the hotel/chalet at departure point. So I thought we could swipe macam biasalah kan. But we couldnt - please bring cash along to pay for the room.  Luckily we have some extra money with us (and please note also, there is  no ATM here :))

The kids had fun- from morning to night.From chalet pool to the beach to the snorkeling area (where we have to take a boat). Their faces, hands and legs bagai ayam kena panggang-their original skin colours could only be spotted on the chest and tummy. That was how much fun they had :).
