My eldest will be in standard 1 next year. So Dec month is a shopping month for her necessity. I just got to know that it is not cheap preparation hehe
One baju kurung is RM 25, One kain kurung is RM 30. You need a minimum of 5 pairs - for morning and afternoon school. And you need at least 2 pairs of shoes but 3 pairs are better. And 3 pairs of tudung for religious school at RM 13 per piece. She will need a minimum of 2 schools begs and anything else - all the stationery and other things in a set of 2.
Then come the books- have to buy from school bookshop- all in all it will cause you to spend about RM 500. Just imagine if you have 3 or more children going to school. Yes it is cheap to most but when it applies to the public at large - to some quarters it is still expensive
Come to think of it I think most parents especially those in kampung will have hard time. Yes maybe they will buy cheaper version of baju kurung- but then how much is cheap? RM 20 per one pair is still expensive if you have 3 or 4 children.
I do agree that education in Malaysia is still very cheap- because we have fully owned government schools, because all text books now is entitled to all, because the fees has been reduced and at time made f.o.c . But maybe to some, more assistance are required.
PS: Now I know why sometimes people portrayed in the Bersamamu TV3 do not able to send their children to schools :(-

banyak juga belanja back to school kan.. lelebih lagi every year adaaaa jer barang2 canggih untuk bebudak ke sekolah, in a way ok jugak la supaya kasi semangat.. few years back, keluar beg sekolah yg ada troli tu.. senang skit depa nak tarik beg yg berat.. time kita dulu mana ada troli kan.. galas jugak la sampai nak patah bahu..
tapi new features yg depa dok tambah macam ni la jugak yg menaikkan harga barang2 mcm beg sekolah ni kan.. bebudak tgk pun tertarik.. alhamdulillah kalau dapat.. like what u said kalau mcm dalam sesetengah family yg kurang bernasib baik... sangat tersentu hati kita kan.. semoga Allah merahmati mereka..

Lady - iya Lady but parents yg kuat semangat they manage camna pun - biarla bergolok gadai asal anak sekolah kan tu pergorbanan parents mithali
Azmiezas - iya kindie biasala tu sebab private - ni no 2 5 years ,nak kena 1k gak ni :)

hari tu pegi reccee satu kindie untuk anak. mak aii... RM280 sebulan??? charges utk registration mmg dkt2 1k juga. ikut jugalah orang admin tu bawak tour around the kindie, nak tengok apa yang specialnya. rasa macam taklah special sangat mana pun...
kalau saya hantar anak ke tadika KEMAS je, agak-agaknya ok tak?
anak saya pun terpengaruh dengan kartun. beli beg, nak beg Ben 10. beli bekas makanan/minuman, nak Tom & Jerry, beli alat tulis, nak yang ada karektor disney. bekas minuman Tom & Jerry tu saya belikan, beg Ben 10 saya buat dek saja. biar anak belajar, bukan semua benda yang dia hajatkan dia akan dapat. heh.
Haida- boleh ja - kita pun dtg dari tadika kemas:) cuma kita selalu want to give the best to our children so we make the choice but private kindie or private school kelebihan nya la it give more one to one attention but if we have the time and rajin ajar they all sendiri tadika kemas boleh ja pandai ja kita dulu:)
